Hello from San Diego.

Two weeks ago, Ziggy was diagnosed with diabetes and perhaps we caught it at the very beginning.

5 days ago we started on Purina MD and the horrible BG testing with Lantus insulin. He's doing really well and responding in such a way that we may be able to get off insulin far sooner than we expected.

We hate the ear pricking. We hate the ear pricking back to back after a BG level of 200 or less. But, I guess it'll be worth it.

So, if you're up at 5 a.m. going through the process, even on the weekends, so are we!

Thanks. Forgot while writing that this forum is for humans with diabetes. My experience has sure sharpened my appreciation as to what humans have to deal with when fighting or managing diabetes.
