I don't see how you could be checking your glucose wrong. Wash hands, insert strip in meter, prick finger and put the blood on the strip. Good luck in figuring it all out. Each one of us is very different from the other.

Had a spike today after I had eaten a double qtr pounder and medium fries from mcdonalds today. Went up to 102... So I have made another appt with my doctor to see if I was misdiagnosed. Now I can't negate the importance of my first diagnosis A1c being 8.4 however, I am curious as to if they may have done something wrong. Or if the immediate 22 lbs weight loss gave me another opportunity.

So I have been eating sniker bars, and M&Ms all day. Even had a soda. All before lunch; BG never got over 98 all day. I get home and have a slice of pizza and it shoots up to 160. I guess bread affects my BG more than anything.

Starchy carbs affect mine as well. Have you tried pasta yet? The pasta and bread combination is a big spike for me. The same goes for potatoes, french fries especially.

I did have some chow mien from panda express. There was a small spike. Bread is the worst. Any amount puts me through the roof. One slice or 10 does not matter. I can eat iced cream, candy bars, potato chips etc with no problems.
