Hi there
Hi just got round to posting, I survived with insulin levels in excess of 30 until it got discovered in hospital by mistake, I was in for something completely different, I am insulin resistant big time and have to take up to 120 units of insulin at any one time, they want to do a stomach bypass which I'm led to believe could reverse it, but I've just had heart surgery for SVT and I have a heap of other medical issues, I'm hoping GB will help restructure my life by highlighting problem areas with my diabetes as it needs to be stable before they will complete the bypass, has anyone had this surgery, which is also known as Roux-en-y, thanks, oh and hello!

Hello, I'm a new member who will be starting insulin today - I've just had this surgery suggested to me yesterday. Recently had an angioplasty and a stent in the heart. All I know about it so far is that it's irreversible and you have to take vitamin and mineral supplements for the rest of your life. Big deal, beats taking insulin and a host of other diabetes drugs and heart drugs in my opinion! Please keep me posted on your journey with this and good luck!
