Default insulin chart???

How do you know how many units to give your child? Is there a chart I can look at? I'm new to this and would really appreciate the information!!

There is no insulin chart to my knowledge. You need to meet with your Endocrinologist and have them calculate the child's insulin sensitivity factor (ISF) and insulin to carb ratio (ICR). By having these numbers and knowing how many carbs your child had to eat you can calculate the insulin dosage. This is called Pump Technology and it works very well even though you don't have the pump, you just use multiple daily injections (MDI).

Here is a website that may help you: http://www.childrenwithdiabetes.com/
