Here is the insulin cooler that I use.
Note: Other coolers are available on the website for those that don't use the pens.

I hope the information helps!
Thank you for the links on these items. I have been looking for a discrete way to carry my equipment while keeping it cool. Whoever came up with these ideas is a godsend. It makes managing things a lot easier.

Dano, thanks so muck for the links! You've solved my multi day hike problems !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have always wanted to hike the entire Horse Shoe trail here in PA but it's a 10 to 15 day hike depending on how much sight seeing you do, but even 10 days in spring can let things warm up a bit much..
How long is a soak period? Takes about 3 - 5 minutes for me to filter pump enough H2O to refill my hydration bladder for a days hike.. Would that be enough time?

The initial soak time is about 15 minutes the first time and is dependant on the size that you get. (Note that you will do this at home, before you leave on your trip, and it will not be a factor.) This is because the crystals are dry. After the initial soak it takes about 5 minutes every other day with very little water. If you are a hiker, then you are probably familiar with the cheaper version of the "cooling" neck bands. (I am pretty sure that the company sells a better version of those as well.) The Frio works the same way, you just have 2 of the "coolers" sewn together to form a pocket that you slide the insulin down into. It works as advertised, I can attest to that!

When you get your Frio, I would advise you to try the cooler a couple of times before your trip. It seems to take longer the first time on the intitial soak. This will let you know the exact water needed to keep the cooler hydrated. Good luck, enjoy your trip.
