Default Hello from California!

Hello, My name is Blake and I'm 19 years old. I was just diagnosed with type 1 diabetes 4 days ago. My bg was alittle above 400 and A1c was 8.6. When the doctor first told me i was petrified, not knowing what diabetes really was. After too many appointments and an overload of research I am full of information.

I'm trying my best to look at this diagnoses as a gift, because this will help me stay on a balanced routine in life and keep my body healthy. It's been a physical as well as an emotional rollercoaster these past 4 days.
Its super hard keeping my bg stable, still getting highs up to 300 and yesterday got a low of 43 and had to eat my sugar tablets! Im still getting the use of counting carbs and dosing the insulin. Today has been much better than yesterday.

After seeing my specialist and dietitionist today I have way more control over my bg and am more confident in myself to do this. Its a big change in my day to day sqedule and I have a feeling im going to be on this forum alot.
