Smile Hello from South Australia

Hi everyone, my name is Simone, I have been diabetic type 2 since I was 21, some 16 years ago, and realistically I think I havebeen in denial since then !

Anyway living a really busy stressful life, like most of us I am sure, 3 very young tearaway's that keep me on my toes, I have always had excellent control, recently its rocketed, morning reads have been 15 - 18 ! and with it has come its problems, I am my own worst enemy, I forget to check my BSL and go weeks without even thinking about it, I have to take responsibility for myself.....
I am trying to bring it down now, and need a disciplined response, tihs program I know will work for me, as I dont have the time to mess around with pieces of paper and remembering to fill this in and that in, having it all to hand on my phone is just perfect! Thanks guys for bringing this to us

Simone;

Welcome to the Forum!

I usually try to tell new people that Diabetes requires a healthy lifestyle change and that their control is ultimately up to them. Good luck with your control and management.

Hello Simone , I am new as well and also live in South Australia ( Adelaide ) I have been a diabetic now for almost 11 months - still struggling at times but also am very awre that my health is being affected and trying very hard to make the changes I need to make. I think Danny pretty much hit the nail on th head - I know I feel so alone at times because no one quite understand the implications of having diabetes

Thanks Danny you are right, and of course now is the time to take that control.

Tania I feel for you, it is / can be a lonely street as its all on the inside. When i was first diagnosed someone told me not to let it control my life, i do what i want and control it, well like I say i reckon i took that 2 literally! and now I am making a stand.
Even though I always feel alone about it , as no one else really understands, its good to know that there others out there for you as support, so keep in touch lon your journey
