Default hello

Hello I am 40 yrs old and have just recently been diagnosed with diabetes. I am new at this giving myself a shot every day thing, but
It is not that bad. I am taking 22units currently once a day. It is not the end because when I test my sugar in the mornings it averages between 210-280. I have stayed away from sodas but I did eat a burger and onion rings last night and my sugar this morning was 251. I am 6' 235lbs. I actually have lost weight because I was 250. My doctor said for me to up my insulin 2 units for every 3 days that my sugar was above180. But I have not exactly been eating like I should have.

Welcome to the Forum!

Diabetes requires a lifestyle change in order to manage properly. Read the three stickys at the top of the T2 Section. They will help you along your way. Carb counting does work wonders. A word to the wise: Get a hold of the Diabetes, it has already gotten a hold on you!

Good luck with your control and management!
