Default embarrassed?

Are you embarrassed about being. Type 2? I would never admit or tell anyone. If you're the slightest bit overweight, society blames you and look at down on you.

Default Not embarrassed

Initially yes I was embarrassed, but not anymore. Was dx'ed before Thanksgiving and I avoided joining family for a holiday meal, because I didn't want others to judge me by the food on my plate. Now I do not pay any mind. Diabetes is not a personal failure and for some people it is hereditary. So, I keep my chin up and I work on managing my diabetes.

Not at all. I am not even overweight and still have it. It must be genetic. I just feel you should be proud of the person you are and screw what anyone else thinks. Let your freak flag fly sort of thing - ya' know? If people can't love you for who you are then they are not worth your time.

I was recently dx'd and I'm very embarrassed because I'm overweight. The thing is though I eat very healthy, there's nothing in my diet I can change and I don't overeat, really!! I have chronic pain issues including fibromyalgia and I'm waiting for surgery on a prolapsed disc so exercise is currently out of the question. I'm looking forward to recovering from surgery and being able to introduce exercise as a means of reducing my numbers. I avoid telling anyone about having diabetes because I know they'll take one look at me and think it's because of poor choices but it honestly isn't, it's apparently genetic for some people and is inevitable no matter what.

Yes I'm embarrassed. Was only diagnosed last week and I've only told a couple of my close friends. The doctor has been trying to get me to lose weight for years and I have lost a little but not enough.

I know some people will say they're not surprised.
