Default Big difference betwen glucometters!

Hi,i am new in this forum and find it usefull,any one can help me to understand what hapend in this situation,i check my sugar level after lounch with 2 diferent types of glucometters dont know if i can write here wich they are..but the diference is it at 30mg/dl,sory for my bad english,hope will get some help,thanks in advance!

All meters are between 10% to 20% off. You will seldom get two to agree. Your best bet is to choose one and use it all the time.

Even testing the same finger with the same meter seconds apart I've had as much as a 10 difference. As was said the meters run a margin of error of up to 20%. When I was first diagnosed and trying to bring it down I had a difference of 45 seconds apart on a different finger. I discussed with my doctor and since the scores were both in the mid 200s he said it fit in the margin of error.

You may find certain fingers generally test higher or lower as well. It is really important to just test regularly and learn to interpret your own results. As you get your numbers into your target range these issues are much less common from my experience.

Also, be sure your fingers are clean. Some sugar or carbs on your skin can throw it off.
