Hello from Indiana
I am not sure how these forums work but I am anxious to learn and utilize. I was diagnosed with Type II in 1999 and now that I am retired (but not able to get medicare yet - so no insurance).
So with this new available time I can learn more about my diabetes and how to take care of it better. Thanks for welcoming me! Last edited by dano; 10-21-2010 at 02:31 AM. |

Welcome to the Forum! Some of the info in the T2 Section in the Blood Sugar 101 thread may be of help to you. Look for the "Diabetes on a Budget" icon. I hope the info helps!

Danny - I am so new at this that I do not know what T2 means in the Blood Sugar 101 Thread. I am working at how to navigate on the site. Thank you very much.
Hope you are having a great evening. |

Good morning from NW Indiana
Danny, words cannot express how much I appreciate the assistance you have given me in getting acquainted with GB! Plus...Thank you for turning me on to MyNetDiary!!
I really did not think my life could be easier than using LoseIt and WaveSense. It takes only a fraction of the time using GB and MyNetDiary. To think that is just after using MyNetDairy and GB together for one day. With the total carbs reflected on MyNetDiary for the meal it is so easy to take that number and enter it in GB. Normally I will plan out (at least attempt) at least dinners for the week. Now with being able to plan a week on MyNetDiary I should be able to do it even better. This is very exciting for me. Now I look forward to visiting more forums and get acclamated even more with my new buddy...Glucose Buddy. Once again...Thank you soooooo very much. Most Sincerely, Susan |

Susan;
You are welcome! Be sure to keep the LoseIt! App in play, as it comes in very handy sometimes when you can't find a wifi connection to use the MyNetDiary App. I have had to go back and use it a few times. Another free app, that I have found very handy, is the Restaurants App if you eat out at all.

The good news is that we do NOT eat out alot but I will check it out. I have been reading so much the last few days I practically brain dead! Lol. Just want to confirm one thing... It is the net carbs I need to enter in my GB, right.
Have a great weekend! |

Susan;
I just use total carbs. I don't take the time to calculate the net carbs because you need all the nutritional values to do this and sometimes the fiber content is hard to find on some foods. I suppose that you could use net carbs, but I think it would be extra work for a small benefit to me.
