Default diagnosed 3 days ago...help me understand!

I am taking 20 units of Lantus every night. and then Novolog before each meal in the day if my BG is over 140. I was at 311 on Tuesday. Today before dinner I was at 90. I had 4 oz sirloin steak with 1/4 cup mushrooms in 1/2 tbsp. Olive oil, cubed sweet potato 1 cup, and fresh green beans. at 1 hour I was at 138. At 10 pm I am at 245.

Now each of my pre meal readings were too low to take the Novolog.
Breakfast 130
Lunch 111
Dinner 90

Could it be that I hadn't had any other Insulin today and the longer release Lantus is not as effective at about the 24 hour mark?

Just trying to understand so I can keep my BG down always.

Default Figured it out!

I went to taco bell and got a diet pepsi after my 1 hour post dinner reading. I believe they gave me a regular pepsi.

Ok never ordering a drink again I don't get to fill myself.

Lantus lasts 20 hrs, that may help with your readings
