...and my sugar was 281 last night. Hi all. I've always been "pre" but no one was concerned. On 6/10 I was hospitalized with a life-threatening drug allergy that wreaked havoc on my liver, spleen, and blood. I'll be on steroids for months. My sugar immediately spiked and is fluctuating crazily. I'm also craving sweets more than my whole life and kind visitors are making that harder (my body is not processing them at all-I feel bad and the number jumps.)
My insurance has given us a real run-around about testing strips. We ended up just ordering them from amazon til I could figure it out. Does anyone have an argument I can take to insurance, or a very cheap place to buy mail-order, etc? Thanks! |

Self education is one of the keys to successful management of your diabetes, along with a healthy / sensible diet and exercise. Basically, diabetes requires a life-style change for the better. Good luck with your control and management.
