Default Glucerna shake at bedtime?

Anyone drink a Glucerna CarbSteady shake before going to bed to aid in lowering morning blood glucose readings? I take Metformin morning and night and Glipizide 30 minutes before breakfast. Several nurses who work with my insurance company suggested eating some protein and carbs prior to going to bed. They suggested a slice of bread with peanut butter. I’ve tried it, but don’t particularly care for peanut butter. The shake has 10 grams of protein and 23 grams of carbs. I’ll not see my doctor until July and will run it by him but he was a bit indifferent about the idea of protein/carbs at bedtime. Thanks.

A handful of almonds seem to work for most people. The 23 carbs seem a little much.
