Default thought I was doing good and then BOOM!

Please be diligent! Please don't be lulled into a sense of accomplishment! Thus is a lifetime battle with ups and downs. After being diagnosed November 23 (at age 55) with initial A1C at 11.7 and a weight of 225, I had drastically changed diet and exercise, diligently took my metformin and kept tabs on BG. Weight down to 205, BG running on average 145.
This past Sunday morning I woke up at 4am with Chest pain. Made it to hospital by 6. At about 6:45, I went into cardiac arrest. Thankfully I was in a very good cardiac hospital (Duke Regional in Durham, NC) and they quickly revived me with chest compressions and defibrillation. Be careful my friends, I now understand I have to fight everyday and stay on top of my game every single day.
