should I go on the pump?
I am trying to figure out something that will work and get my sugars down. I have been asked by my doctors if I wanted to try the pump but I've always been against it. I don't think id like something constantly attached to me. Does it get in the way ?does it help you manage your sugars better? I am in the process of changing doctors and I am thinking about it if it helps. My a1c has always been in the 8.0s or 9.0s which I know it awful and I want a change! Anyone have any advice ?

This is my second time on the pump. I am having better BG level so far. My A1c is usually 8.4. I am expecting a better read. I find the the most important thing is to make sure that my carb count is as close to accurate as possible. I had such high levels before because I was bad at counting. I was on a serious yoyo.

I was on the pump and my readings were pretty good. Went off it and they have had bad numbers. I'm going back on it. I purchased the t-slim. I'm excited about it. It's very user friendly and I need my numbers down.

Do it!! I clip my pump to the center of my bra. I can still wear fitted clothing and you don't even notice it! But aside from worrying about my appearance, the pump does help! And if you absolutely hate it then at least you tried it... But if you like it AND it helps your numbers then double victory for you!! Most likely your sugars won't get worse by using it!!!

I am from India, aged 58 years and diabetic for the past 20 years. I am taking Mixtard 30 and Glucored forte tabs twice in a day. Yet, my sugar levels are still high. I am fed up with the pain in injecting insulin 2 times apart from tablets daily. I want yo go for a pump. But, my doctor says I don't need a Pump. Can anybody advise me whether pump is required only by those who need insulin intake 3/4 times a day?

I have been on a pump for the better part of 16 years. At times I don't like having something attached to me but through trial and error with different lengths of tubing and different insertion sets I have come to what works for me. It really isn't different than wearing a phone on a belt clip. It is lighter generally and smaller than a phone. Again this is my experience and yours may be different. My numbers have certainly improved with the pump.

I'm a 25 year old female and love my pump. Been on it since 2006. I was an active athlete in school and college and it never interfered with my daily life. Just can't keep them on while you bathe or swim. Really helps with control and getting a1c to a normal and manageable state.
