Glipizide has worked pretty well for me. I have been off metformin and insulin injection with proper diet and minimal exercise. Have been on it almost 2 years now.

I'm not on it - and would likely refuse to take it. I'm controlling blood glucose with a low carb diet. Since Glipizide makes you pump out a background level of insulin (whether needed or not), if you aren't eating enough carbs you can easily become hypoglycemic.
I'm also concerned about it putting additional stress an already overstressed pancreas - although I'd need to research that more thoroughly before I rejected it for that reason alone. If I get to the point where I might need it, I'll talk to my doctor about adding insulin directly (and more controllably). It would be worth the inconvenience to me. |

I used to take glimprtide it sure if it's the same one and metfromin. Hated the glimprtide. At first it lowered good but I had to eat the second I needed food. I could. It wait 5 min! I had a timer to tell me when to eat. My bs started going to 30 or 40. My doc lowered it and said cut it in half. Still dropping to 30 and 40. I still have some but I don't take it unless it's 200. Then it goes from 200 to 40 in like 2 hours If that. My doc told me To only use it if it sky rockets. I hate it
