Default 4 year old with a love for all foods

My daughter was diagnosed when she was 13 months old with type 1 diabetes. I have the hardest time keeping her out of the fridge and to make matters worse I am hypoglycemic and needs sweets n sugar crap alot how can I keep us both healthy?? Any tips would be amazing and thank u. Also does anyone with a diabetic child have more than one, my oldest has it but my two younger boys don't and I hope they never get it. Is it really that genetic. She has a different father than my other two hoping that makes the difference

I would love to offer help but can't I have the same problem with Sophie I can not keep her out of the fridge or pantry it drives me insane I've put baby gates on the kitchen she found a way to open it so I put a chain on it she climbed over it I put a removable door with lock she broke the lock I put the good old padlock and latch on it she pushed through the door I've had child locks on the fridge and pantry and even resorted to taking the door knob off the pantry and still no success so I'm also very interested in what others have done to stop this

I once resorted to putting a bicycle cable and lock one the refrigerator door before bed to keep my son out of the orange juice. It worked.

This is a good post. I had a lot of trouble with this in the past but keeping low carbs available and a structure meal and snack time helps a lot.

This is my daughters account but she is now 14 15 in March and was diagnosed in 2000 at the early age of 8 months old ... Yes 1 cc of insulin was too much and we had to strengthen our math skills in fractions using dilutant ??? What a scary time ... It was right after BOOSTER SHOTS!!!!! Swear that was our trigger !!!! Skip ahead at Nemours Children's Clinic here in FL they paid us as parents to take the antibodies test and found out I have all the markers for this disease and hubby does not have any... Your children can have this done very easily at the ENDO ... It was nice to know and I would if we had decided to have another child but when J was diagnosed with also the 2 nd auto immune Hepatitis we decided no way
