When diagnosed I checked my blood sugar before and after working out to see if I needed to increase the carbs or protein.

I was advised to check blood sugar before exercise - if it's between 6/10 mmol then go ahead but remember to take extra carbs (say 20/30g depending on how hard you work out) after 1 hour. If lower, take 20g carbs then work out. If higher, work out and take less carbs after one hour (say 10/20g). If over 13 mmol before exercise - don't exercise, get blood sugars down first.
Hope this helps! |

recently diagnosed Type I also, not sure of a exact number but intensive cardio drops my numbers significantly...resistance training does not seem to change it as much...
