Thank you so much for posting this! I really enjoyed reading your journey to get your a1c that low! I am constantly trying to lower mine and it seems like a Neverending struggle.
My favorite comment was about the coffee. I always find my glucose numbers really high after only drinking coffee. I thought it was the caffeine but there's no high after tea or diet soda. All my creamers are sugar free and I use Splenda mostly. But you're right-that still has carbs! I've switched to stevia and truvia as a sugar substitute and trying to wean myself from creamer all together. Your post really helped me And made me realize other people are struggling with the same things I go through! Thanks for sharing! Angelina |

Love this thread as it gives me hope. I live a very healthy lifestyle, so becoming a type one diabetic has caused me a lot of angst. But this thread has been great at seeing that it can be well controlled and you can continue to live healthily.
Thanks and keep the positive, helpful and inspiring posts coming. |

That was really helpful! I am newly diagnosed Type 1 (about two months ago) any suggestions for foods that aren't going to spike my bg? I am finding that even some meals that are low carbs still shoot my bg up to about 175 while others with roughly the same amount of carbs don't.

My eight-year-old daughter was recently diagnosed with diabetes type one and now her doctor is telling me that she has tested positive for the antibodies for celiac disease? We are going to a gastroenterologist for more testing. Does anyone know anything about celiac disease and type one diabetics? Any info would be appreciated.

Nice work! I was diagnosed at age 35 with Type 1 and basically went on pump within 8 months due to my very active lifestyle. I have never had an HbA1c of 5.2, but consistently between 5.5 and 5.8 for for ~3 years and never above 6.2. Frequent testing (8-15x/day depending on activities) and established "routine" are what I contribute to my success😄

I have been a insulin junkie for almost 15 years now, and found this very helpful. I am far from the 5 clubs, my last was 9.7 😳 and I am trying to stay determined to bring it down. This will help me greatly so I thank you again for starting this thread.

I am also on humalog and lantus and have discovered glucose buddy and am determined to get my levels in check, I will follow your advice as I do think yes we are individual but common sense also when eating does matter and our health professionals only see us for a short time but essentially it's down to us with the help of the information they give
