vision
I was diagnosed with type 1 mellitis on 12/4/14, which is unusual being I'm 60 years old and in excellent shape. Started on Janumet, then she added insulin. I'm down to blood sugar level of 118 this morning, from a 442 start. But the amazing change is my vision. I've been terribly nearsighted my whole life, but in the past week my vision is coming back. In fact, there is a minor difference with my glasses on. Go figure! Was I border line diabetic most of my life and didn't know it?

Welcome to the Forum!
Prolonged high blood sugar will have a negative effect on your vision. When you get your blood sugar to a more normal level and stabilized, you should see a great improvement in your vision. Read through the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance, if you have not already done so. These threads will most-likely help you a lot. Self education is one of the keys to successful management of your diabetes, along with a healthy / sensible diet and exercise. Basically, diabetes requires a life-style change for the better. Also take a look at Type 1.5 diabetes. Good luck with your control and management.
