Default A1c.

My A1C is 5.7 my doctor says I am pre diabetic. Can any one tell me at what point does pre diabetic start and when is it full blown diabetes? I haven't a clue on this. Thank you all.

The HbA1C is not the normal indicator. Generally, it is your fasting BG (100-125 mg/dl) and BG 2 Hours After High Carbs (140-199 mg/dl). Here is a link for the standard indicators.

You are on the borderline. Try to stay at 5% or below and you'll be golden.
