Default how long is prolonged high BGL?

I'm not sure how long it takes for the more serious types of cellular damage to occur. Anyone know?
My concern is I do feel Im doing what I can and they've increased the metformin. But I don't know how strongly to advocate for myself for more help getting my numbers better faster.

I consider anything above 140 mg/dl to be high. Read through the first three threads in the Type 2 section, as they will help you with this.
