Default Hi, new to GB & trying to figure out food log

Hi,

New to GB, but so grateful I found it! I am a long time type 2 diabetic that has ignored my health for several years. As a result I have developed Diabetic Nueropathy in my feet and am in what my Dr. calls a toxic state. In other words my body is posioning itself due to consistantly dangerously high blood sugar. To get out of this toxic state I am on two types of insulin 5 times a day and Metformin.
I am grateful I found GB b/c it allows me to track everything in one app. I am having trouble figuring out how to enter the "grams" in the food log. What grams is it tracking? Fat, carbs, protein, weight of the food? If anyone can answer this question I would greatly appreciate it.

Thank you,
Lisa

Lisa;

Welcome to the Forum!

The answer to most of your questions can be found in the "GB Help" thread.

Adding Foods:

The food entries are a bit different from the blood glucose entries. Under Add Logs; Food; Add Food; Add Log; Create a food called Carbs. (grams), then pick that food each time you input your food. This method is very simple and lets you keep up with your food by logging carbs. However, to effectively use this method, you will need to learn to carb count. Please reference Carb Counting 101.

The food unit is Carb (grams).

I hope that all your medical problems work out for the best. Good luck with your control and management.
