Hello
Hi everyone,
I was diagnosed with Type 2 in 1998. About six years ago a nurse for my health plan alerted me to the possibility of Type 1.5 (sic). Recently I've read that this is also called LADA (Latent Autoimmune Diabetes in Adults). But this forum doesn't appear to have any mention or discussion of that (I haven't read everything!). About two years ago my doc started me on insulin because the A1C wasn't coming down. I test blood glucose 4 times a day. Six months ago, he said the A1C was below 7, and that made him really happy. I find that a good walk almost every day helps blood sugar a lot, as does dancing, working in the shop, and gardening. I hope someone will tell me if LADA is addressed somewhere here on Glucose Buddy. In the meantime, I've been recording all my BG readings and will take them into my doc tomorrow for my annual physical. |

Dano,
Thank you for the links to various people with LADA. My doc hasn't really admitted the LADA diagnosis. There are relatively few mentions of LADA here at Glucose Buddy and in the (electronic) literature, and the current therapies appear. Thank you again. |
