Default grains

I started seeing a nutritionist three weeks ago, and she has me on a diet that is grain and dairy free. Lots of veggies and salads, and 12 ounces of protein a day divided between three meals. Two fruits a day are allowed. No artificial sweeteners at all. Stevia is allowed. Switched from milk to unsweetened almond milk for my decaf coffee. I'm not on meds but should have been. My fasting has dropped from 263 three weeks ago to 121 this morning. Dropped ten lbs. Still have a long ways to go, but it is a start. Marlene

Default whole grains

I agree that grains are not good for diabetics. My naturopath/nutritionist took me off all grains and dairy three weeks ago, and my fasting glucose has come down over 130 points. I have also lost weight. I am allowed to have beans 2 to 3 times per week, since they are carby. Grains like flax seeds are allowed 2 to 3 times a week as well. I am not on meds and let my diabetes get out of control. This nutritionist is saving my life. My blood pressure has also come down and I have cut back on those meds. My total cholesterol was 100 before I cut out the carbs. Curious to see what it will be when I have my blood work done early August. Marlene
