Hi from Scotland!
Hi all!
I have only just been asked to start recording blood glucose levels and have only started using the iPhone Glucose Buddy app. I have been Type 2 for around 4 years now and up until recently only on oral meds: Metformin & Pioglitazide (I couldn't tolerate Gliclazide). Due to my levels continuing to be too high - 11.5%, I have been offered a new treatment - Victoza - instead of insulin so a bit relieved about that but been advised it may not work with my "high levels". I am due to begin this on Tuesday (15/06/10) so time will tell and will share any useful information I get. Looking forward to meeting and communicating with you all! |

good luck in working on you levels, my story is similar to yours-my a1c was over 11 last summer when I was put on insulin with my metformin. I really didn't want the insulin, but I can say it was the best thing I've ever done, now I am 6.6 and I attribute that to diet, exercise and insulin. Work hard on keeping control and if your next step is insulin, I can say it's not that bad.
