Default A Whole New World

Just diagnosed with Type 2. Although my family has a history of diabetes always thought it would not visit me. But since it has I am embracing the changes they have to be made to stay on this side of the dirt. Yes it is shocking but my main goal is to keep myself active and healthy. Not focusing on the negative. The big change so far is my vision. I encourage everyone to stay the course and take control. Right now I am on metformin twice a day, when diagnosed my count was 480 now my morning count today was 118! Yes we can control it with eating right and exercise. I was only diagnosed two weeks ago. Started walking and watching diet. My vision was so bad I could not drive today I am driving better without my glasses. So I say this to say hang in there you can still live a full life! Blessings!

Welcome to the Forum!

I have had the same problem with vision. It comes from the blood glucose levels being high for a long period of time. Once you get your blood glucose level down to a more normal average (shoot for an average less than 140 mg/dL) your vision should return to normal.

Read through the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance, if you have not already done so. These threads will most-likely help you a lot. Self education is one of the keys to successful management of your diabetes, along with a healthy / sensible diet and exercise. Basically, diabetes requires a life-style change for the better. Good luck with your control and management.
