I feel like beer and wine have the highest amount of carbs where as if you did like jack and diet coke it doesn't effect your blood sugar as much

Yeah I didn't drink until I went to college and I asked my doctor how I should take care of myself while I drink, she said don't take insulin unless you drink fruity drinks because they are most often made with juice. If you mix with regular soda make sure you know how much you have and take Insulin accordingly! I am a crown royal and coke guy, but I've found that crown and diet coke is much better tasting and I don't have to worry about taking insulin! Just watch out for the dragon fruit vodkas and things like that, also beer usually has the amount of carbs on the bottle. Oh and the most important thing to do is make sure the people around you know you have diabetes! My friends always help me and remind my to check my blood. Luckily I have the pump so it's easier to enter my blood sugar and have it tell me how much I insulin I should take, especially when I am intoxicated.

I've always stuck to rum and diet coke because, as others have mentioned, it has minimal impact on blood glucose.
An interesting bit of information I've learned in one of my university courses is that alcohol can cause a delayed hypoglycemic effect. I've definitely experienced this the day following an evening of drinking where my blood glucose is perpetually low, so often I just make sure to decrease insulin units for that day.

Champagne, darlings, champagne! Very dry, virtually no carbs and sooo expensive you can't drink much! Accompanied by olives and/or nuts - perfect!
