Default OneTouch® UltraMini®

If you use OneTouch® Ultra® Test Strips and you need a work or travel meter, you can get a free OneTouch® UltraMini®. Click here to see if you qualify.

I will give you my thoughts, on this meter, since this is a review section. The meter is small and makes it easy to carry in your pocket. Setting the date and time is a PITA. Should you get one of these, make sure that you read the instructions on setting date and time before you ever turn it on. There is no way to go back to the setup menu without removing the battery and rebooting the meter. The meter gives a little higher blood glucose reading, as compared to my OneTouch® Ultra®, in a side-by-side test. It does an OK job with on-the-go readings. What more could you expect with a ~$19 meter? Enjoy!

You can set the date and time simply by pressing and holding the Up & Down arrow buttons for about 6 seconds.

Thanks for posting that information. I did find that out later, after I read the instructions.

I have an ultra and 2 minis. One at home one for the office and one in the car. I prefer the mini (called the easy in the UK). Simple. Discrete. Accurate.

I have the One Touch UltraSmart meter at home and I took advantage of the UltraMini FREE offer and I take them with me whenever I go out. It's awesome and I have everything logged on the iPhone Glucose Buddy application. It's the best deal it town - free and gives you all sort of tools to control your diabetes. I just wish they have the a1c calculator on the iPhone apps too.

There is nothing magical about the A1c calculations, you can calculate your own. You may want to take a look at the previously supplied information (A1c Calculations) thread in the Discuss Everything Else (off-topic) Section.

I love my mini! I have too have 2 minis and one ultra. But I rarely use my ultra now since the minis fit so easy in a pocket or purse. Plus the colors are fun!
