Red face My diabetes left for 30 year is now back.

Hello group,
I was diagnosed with type II as a teen. Treated with oral meds for 7 year when a diabetes specialist took me off my meds. Over 30 untreated years, I gained 40 pounds and now the as you might guess it is back.
I asked my general md for a glucose tolerance test because I had tingling in my feet for months. He told me they dont do that anymore. Now they do a test called A1C.
We did the A1C and the results were normal so he ignored it. Months later, I went to a foot doctor with the tingling and after discussions with an endocrinologist, we scheduled the glucose tolerance test. It resulted in a diagnosis of type II, which I was not surprised at.
The endocrinologist is now my general doctor and I do not see the other doctor any more.
When first diagnosed, I was very attentive to testing. I tested before and after every meal, but over the years have gotten sloppy with records and failed to test often.
The Glucose buddy app has inspired me to test more often. Which is great, but now my fingers are getting quite sore. Dose this happent to anyone else?

Welcome to the Forum!

I am glad to see that you found a good doctor. Read the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance. I hope that GB helps you get on top of you testing. Good luck with your control and management.
