Default low BS- is my meter wrong?

Hi. I have been charting my bs for a week or so now and I still don't understand my levels. I think I'm borderline hypoglycemic.

Yesterday my bs was 69, 4 hrs after a sausage and biscuit. I had nothing to eat and checked it 2 hrs later and it was 82. So my question is; is my meter wrong or is my body burning fat for calories, and making my bs come back up?

Your meter is probably not wrong. However, meters can be off by 10% to 20%. You may want to do a tag search on this site for "meter discrepancy".

Try to keep your blood sugar above 70 ml/dl, since anything below that number is considered hypoglycemic. Depending on your normal everyday activity, exercise routine, carbs per meal etc. you may need to bump your carb count per meal up or your insulin down, if you are using insulin. Usually a blood sugar reading of between 100-120 is a good place to be during the day.
