Default I'm trying to stay calm - how to use this program

My name is Marna. I am brand new here. This is my third app and I feel like screaming. There doesn't seem to be any directions on how to use this and I am so lost and frustrated. I try to enter a food, I click on add food and it takes me to a blank list.

I've never been in a forum, I don't know how to do this either. What are tags?

Marna;

Welcome to the Forum! You are doing well with the web posting.

On food input: First you have to setup the food list, in the Pick Food(s) list press the "+" in the top right corner, input the food information and save it. I only use one, as I input everything as a Carb in grams. I hope this helps.

Default The ideal system

Thank you for the reply. I was afraid that this would be your answer. I'm sorry that this app doesn't have a food database. I am having trouble finding an application that has a "home base" on my computer that will sync with a mobile app on my ipod touch: a system which has a food database, and will chart, simultaneously, my glucose and other data such as food, exercise, boluses, ets.
If a fairy godmother could grant my wish, this program would also sync with my pump, so that I would not have to manually input my BG and Boluses - just food and exercise and misc notes. I would gladly pay for such a program if anybody knows of one.
Obviously you are using this app because you think it is the best and easiest for you to use. There are SO MANY out there and the investment in time to try them is exhausting.

Marna;

I am sorry for your unfortunate situation. I do not know of a program that will accomplish your needs. I use the GB App along with the Lose It! App to accomplish my needs. I realize that it takes a few key strokes, but it is much better than the "books" I previously used. While technology is a great thing, it has not currently evolved enough to meet the needs of most people with diabetes. Hopefully it will get there soon.

Thanks for your kind words. One would think that with all the smart computer people out there that somebody would have this figured out by now....the data part, I mean.

So, with this program, after I compile a bunch of data will I be able to chart the various categories of data together to see the relationship of food, insulin, and BG?

Marna;

I am sure that you have seen the graph functions on the website. While these graphs calculate the averages well they do not allow for manipulation of data. However, if you are well versed with computer skills you can download your data file and manipulate it in a manner that better suites your needs.

marna, this app is awesome I use this app and a app called Diabetes Personal Manager cost 4.99 but they do have a .99 cent one also, has a food data bank and will calculate the amount of insuline to carbs and even tell you how much to correct your BS... I found the combination to work great.. Good Luck
once again This App is awesome...thanks to the creators and support
