Training with a Heart Monitor
Is anyone else training with a heart monitor? I have been controlling my diabetes with Diet and exercise (... and the exercise has played a huge part). I started of walking, and then progressed to jogging/running. As my fitness levels improved (and I lost weight ... approx 15kg), I found that I needed to work harder to have the same impact on my glucose levels ... hence using a heart monitor to maintain my heart rate at 155BPM.
As the intensity increased, I have noticed my levels start to rise, so I am interested in experimenting with activity levels are its effect on glucose ... for example is walking more effective than running, etc. Does anyone else have any experience of this, and if you also train with a monitor, so you want to share data. If I find anything of use, I will post it vis this forum. |

I think that this thread may be of use to you. Read the post about High Intensity Work Out and the "fight or flight" part.
