Default a little confused with "food" inputs

For example, I selected the food log and it asked me to enter the food, I entered "egg" and it wants "grams"? Does it only calculate carbs? Not fats and proteins?

I'm more confused directions say to add a food log - it won't let me on free acctso what's the use of the food log being there on free acct?
Then it says to enter "carbs" and the number of carbs what? Do ya'll eat the same number of carbs at each meal? I want to enter "egg",cheese, etc but then there's no place to enter the number of grams. I can put the number beside the name, but it doesn't add it. It takes you to a calculator that doesn't all you to enter decimals - example an egg is 0.6 grams.
This log makes no sense to me.

Most of us use a third party app to log food and only input the carb number for the doctor, since that is all that they are interested in. See the Carb Counting 101 thread, pay particular attention to Post #15.
