Out of control
I had to come off Victoza because of cost and and Metformin isn't doing it on its own because I'm binge eating in the afternoons and have gained 50 lbs back...depressed and at my wits end...begging and praying for support and inspiration here...

Hey I am so sorry that you are having such a tough time. Please believe you are not alone. I am also gaining weight and it is driving me crazy. What I do when I want to eat too much is try to find something else I like to do that occupies my hands as well as my mind. If I read a book I want to snack while reading so I try to do something I like to do, such as crafts or a hobby. This way I am busy and not thinking about food. Have you spoken to our doctor about this? Take one day at a time and please know there are others out here hoping and praying for you and wishing you well.

Did you know that 90% of all diets fail (with failure being gaining back all the weight in 5 yrs or less) and that of that 90% who gain it back... 85% gain MORE than they lost?!? If we prescribed men Viagra...and it only worked for 10% or less of people, would we shame the other 90% it didn't work for? Tell them it's their fault it didn't work? That they didn't do it right, or weren't trying hard enough? No! That's ridiculous right? So why is it any LESS ridiculous when we do it to a fat person about dieting and weight loss? What would happen, if instead of saying "I've gotta lose weight" you said "I've gotta take my MEDS like I'm supposed to, learn about how my diet choices affect my BGL's... And I'd like to move my body more since that's supposed to not only lower levels, but provide other health benefits as well. What if... You focused on getting the BGL under control... And said, if in doing these changes some weight comes off, that's nice... But if it DOESN'T... That's ok too, I'm still healthier.

I take victoZa, Advandia & glyburide (maximum dose for all).Type 2 for 17 years. My Dr. told me if I didn't get blood sugar under control I would have to take insulin at bed. He put me on invokana last week, instant results I feel amazing canada cost about $100/month. Currently taking with regular meds but may have to decrease those as it works so well experiencing lows.

Get off the glyburide. This will give you lows not the Invokana.

Tobeckbabe, My physician just recently put me on Victoza. She also gave me a discount card along with it. I had it filled yesterday. Without my insurance it is $400.00, with my insurance discount and then the coupon it was only $25.00. The coupon is $25.00 for 2 years. I don't know if this helps you or not.

What I do is I eat sugar free jello if I am not full or am hungry between meals. It's nice no carb filler. However, I do strive to get enough proteins in my meals as well as watching those carbs. It's a never ending adventure.
