Default 5-year-old with first virus since diagnosis

Hello! My daughter was first diagnosed with type 1 in mid-December. She has adjusted amazingly well in the short time she's been diagnosed, and she's inspired both my husband and I to look type 1 in the eye and shout "bring it!!"

Today, she spiked a fever and has had a very low appetite. Her glucose levels have been fairly stable, but just wondering what others have done to manage low appetite, insulin doses, etc. We've opted so far to feed her whatever she's willing to eat (yogurt, juice) to just get any carbs in her before she gets insulin. Other thoughts/ideas are much appreciated.

Juices are always good, fruit cups, peanut butter assuming that she is not allergic. Make sure to always keep her hydrated. Get the Ketone test strips and a glucagon emergency kit. Make sure that you know how to use it before you need to. Look for some of the glucose jells in the tubes for lows. Kids seem to really like those. Good luck!

Thanks, dano! Got the ketone strips out - so far she's negative. We count our blessings daily that she loves peanut butter and has no food allergies.
