Default Problems with Android version

I really love this program and the medical team at Swedish Organ Transplant Center thinks all their transplant patients should be using it.

On the Android, there is no way to export the blood sugar logs. Also, when the logs from blood pressure are exported, time is always shown as AM even though it shown on the screen is in 24 hour format.

When will a new version be released?

I am using an ACER 100 running Android 4.0

Thank you so much for such a great piece of software!!

I guess I was not specific enough. With the weight log and the blood pressure log, if you select history, there is an EXPORT button. I was looking for consistency. I don't understand why there are two different ways to export depending on which log is being used. Its like two different programmers wrote the modules.

Also, when exporting history, the time are wrong. The times shown in the log history are in 24 hour format. When exported, all the times are shown as AM even though some of them were recorded in the afternoon or nighttime.

I wish that I could answer some of your questions, but I am not familiar with the Android platform. One of the reasons that I gave you the thread link, was to mention the "Report Generator". If that software works for those using the Droid, then the report generated will be in military time and date.

Thanks Dano. I really appreciated your input. I was hoping that one of the developers would take notice and respond. I am a recent kidney transplant and have to provide weekly reports of my blood sugars and pressure.

I can not find a way to export blood sugar logs, I read through the thread you referenced, but on the Android version, there is no way that I can find to even do the steps indicated in the thread in the blood sugar logs. I can export from the weight and blood pressure logs. I was hoping there were other Android users on the forum.

Thanks again,

Walt

Walt;

It is my understanding that the Android App is set up to email the CSV file. Can you verify that?

Dano

Yes, I can email the blood sugar logs, using a different method, than the blood pressure logs. The time is still wrong as it only has times for AM and does not show times in 24 hour format nor show AM/PM in the time field.

Thanks

Walt

Walt;

Now try running the "Report Generator" on the CSV file that you emailed.

Default Problems with Android Version

Dano,

I downloaded and installed Version 1.2 of Report Generator on my Windows 7 pc and when I loaded the file into Excel, I received many errors - mainly about running unsigned macros. I lowered the security level within Excel so that they would run and saved the file under a different name and tried to run that one. Then I received an error message that there was an object in the VB macro code that was not supported. So that is a bust.

It also seems like that Report Generator is only for Glucose Blood Levels. How do I get valid reports from Blood Pressure logs, Weight logs? If the export worked like it should and included the correct format for time, I would just be able to export the csv files into Excel or Access or any database and create my own reports.

I am a software developer for Boeing and that task is not beyond me. The real problem is not the Report Generator, its that export, using any method in GB, does not export the time values correctly.

So what I am going to do is export 7 days worth of the logs I need, manually correct the time entries (add PM after the ones that are past noon or 12 hours to the time value), load the results into Excel and create the report I want. Actually, all the transplant center wants is a listing of the values ordered by time. I would not have to do any of the above if export worked correctly.

Thanks again for all your efforts but I need the developers to get an Android device and fix the problem or explain how to make it work.

Walt

Walt;

Now we know that it is probably different. Would you mind sending an email to 2twisty, (2twisty@gmail.com) he is a computer programmer as well and he wrote the Report Generator.

He has previously said in one of the Android threads that "If the CSV file is identical to the data that the GB web site exports, then it will work with no modifications. If the file is different, I'll have to modify the code to work on the andriod version."

Maybe the two of you can get it figured out.
