Default new to Glucose Buddy

Just downloaded the app. Wanted something to track my readings. But looks like I am in for more than I asked.

I am a possible diabetic and am following my doctor's advice testing before breakfast once weekly. I am 69, overweight, tired often and more sedentary than I know I should be. About 6 months ago my glucose on my annual blood test was 130 and this alarmed my doctor whom I've been with for over 30 yrs. My blood work has always been well within limits especially cholesterol and triglycerides respectively 180 and 135 do this glucose reading was a shocker. My first A1c was 5.9my second A1c was 6.0. Yesterday, my per breakfast reading was 124; the day prior it was 99. Generally this before breakfast BG is 115 or lower. Well, this evening after supper, O was explaining the glucometer to my 6 yr. old grandson and took my BG - it was 146. That's the highest it's ever been and I'm scared. I'm on the Free Diet which seems to be high on protein and leer on carbs. Any advice for this novice? I've lost 20 lbs. since my initial BG of 130. My doc is wonderful and I am not second guessing him, but I've been reading these BG threads and would appreciate some input. Thank you, Fran

Welcome to the Forum Fran!

Take a look at this link. It will show you what normal blood sugars should be.

Read the first three threads in the Type 2 Section, when you get a chance. Good luck with your control and management.
