Default Periods

Can your period affect your blood sugar levels? I'm going through the "perimenopause" stage and it seems that my glucose levels run a bit higher. I also find myself eating more carbs during this time which I know raises the blood glucose levels. Has anyone else experienced this?? Thanks.

I know when my period is about to start my bloodsugars do rise. Diabetes effects everything, even hormones and emotions. I would not be surprised the link between premenopaus and high Blood suagrs are related.

I have this problem too. Except my sugars usually go high twice, once in the middle of the month and again a week before I start. My sugar also drops just before I start or shortly after. It has greatly affected my a1c. Exercise has not helped!

Absolutely anything can effect blood sugars, especially hormones...perfectly normal. Hang in there, all the best.
