Cool Anyone using Onglyza?

My doctor recently switched my meds from Actos to Onglyza and metformin. Anyone have any experience with this drug combo? I have been taking them for the last 30 days and have had elevated morning levels.

I am using Onglyza right now. I am not quite sure if it is helping or not. I started on the Metformin as well, but that really upset my stomach and I stopped eating. So now I'm off Metformin hopefully replacing it with something else.

Try Glumetza....easier on the stomach. I'm on Glumetza and Onglyza with good results.

I'm using Onglyza with Metformin and have had a positive experience so far. I was taking Januvia but had stomach cramps & diarrhea from it...I'm much better on the Onglyza. Not sure it's doing much to control the sugars though...it's only been 3 weeks.

I'm taking this med and seems to be working for me. I have been on it for about two months.

I use Onglyza once a day and glipizide 2x daily. Metformin makes your stomach sick. it works great for me if you try to count carbs.

A year ago, I was prescribed insulin for my blood sugars, which kept the fasting number at around 356! When I switched to another family physician, he tried out Onlgyza 5mg and Metformin and in exactly 1 week, my fasting blood sugars dropped 200 points overnight and the fasting has been at 100 since then. I have also lost about 40 pounds....which is a not-so-unfortunate side effect. My A1c went from 11.8 in September of 2011 to 7.1 in December of 2011. It is now down to a 6.6 (and another medication was recently added). NOTHING has ever controlled my blood sugars as well as Onglyza has. I've lost weight as well, and I feel GREAT! I am so thankful for switching doctors and for him trying this medication!

I am on Metformin, glimiperide and a few months ago, my doctor added Onglyza. I can't tell that it has affected my readings much but I also don't have any stomach complaints or other reported side effects.
