also wanted to say, carrying around the separate Dexcom receiver is BETTER than having the graph/data on your pump, I find. I used to ride my bike with the Medtronic pump and CGM and would have to unclip my pump from my cycling shorts/bibs and bring it 2" from my face to actually read the graph. now, I just velcro the Dexcom receiver to my handlebars and my BG trends are right in front of my face at all times - helps me to give insulin or fuel as I need it without having to pull out my pump and look at it. plus, people always think it's a cool new Garmin device and are always interested to know that I'm actually T1 and can see my BG in real-time.

Haha, that's awesome!

I was looking at the Animas pump - good to hear you like it! I've been having issues with my minimed (broke on me 2x in a year, really ticked me off and led to some frustrations which may have led to my pump holiday lasting so long.)

Dumb question - is there a clip/holster for the Dexcom?

I love the Animas - thing can seriously take a beating. I was in the same boat - became really frustrated with my mini med after the buttons kept "sticking" and the thing would crap out on me from just getting a little sweat on it! I will say, however, I miss the Bolus Wizard from Medtronic - it was very easy to add a BG to a meal bolus or add some carbs to a correction bolus, but it's a little more complicated with the Animas (has separate "ezCarb" and "ezBG" functions, though you can add a BG to the ezCarb option which makes it similar to the bolus wizard, but not as seamless if that makes sense?)...

As for the CGM, the Seven came with this really lame case with a clip on it, but I don't use it. It's a pretty small receiver, and you'd be getting the G4 Platinum which is even smaller and looks like an iPod of sorts - very easy to stick in your pocket... but I'm unsure if it comes with a separate case/clip/holster type thing... you might want to give them a call though, nice helpful people. 1-888-738-3646

Thanks for the number, I'll be giving them a call!

I'm torn between the Animas and the new TSlim (looks pretty and shiney). I'm hoping my endo's office has both in house so I can play with them.

the t:slim is brand new, so not sure your endo would have... but for what it's worth, the only issues I'd see with the t:slim are 1) not waterproof and 2) the durability... my insurance only approves a new pump every 4 years... I couldn't see myself with the same iPhone for 4 years - and not sure how their warranty is (though my regional Tandem rep says the screen is "crack resistant" whatever that means). as much as I beat my pump up, I need extreme durability and for the thing to be waterproof but that's just me... it DEFINITELY looks cool though
