Have been using Byetta for almost a week and have had no side effects. Using 5 pen and diabetes educator is planning to raise it to 10 in about a month. I don't usually have nausea. When I started Metformin I only had one time of vomitting. My morning numbers have come down from 180-210 to about 150s. Don't have a problem with injection--am using 31 short needles. If I don't look I don't feel prick at all.

I took the medication over a study this past year. I was fine with it until maybe three months into it I started feeling really dizzy and felt like I was going to throw up after the injection. I developed a rash on my stomach which really itched. At the lady visit I had with my doctor we did an injection at the the office and I passed out, went to ER and was cleared. It's not for me!!! Look out for signs!! If it works for you then great but if not move on.
