Default Hello from the Big Easy New Orleans Louisiana

New to this site as I was diagnosed TODAY with type 2. I had suspected as much so I learned as much as I could before my doctors appointment.

Doctor said you seem to be well informed. My response was not really just enough to get myself into trouble.

Was put on Glucovance once a day for now. I know chages in my lifestyle lay ahead for me but as my doctor said you have a good attitude about this.

Thanks for allowing me to introduce myself.

Jack

Welcome to the Forum!

I suppose that you know you will most-likely have to give up some of that good Cajun food.

No only kidding, Changes will have to be made to my diet. I am waiting the Dietician to call me to help with the process of making the required changes.

Jack;

Good luck with the Dietician! You may only have to give up the rice and beans.

Jack;

You are welcome!

If you get a chance, read through the T2 Section - Blood Sugar 101 Thread. There is a lot of information about low carb diets. This will give you and your Dietician something to talk about.
