Default New here

Hi I'm new to GB. I was diagnosed in 2003. I developed diabetes from taking steroids for my heart. They told me it would go away after I was off of steroids, but it never went away. I had a hard time dealing with that but I am slowly coming to terms with it. I sometimes forget to take my blood sugars but I am hoping this will help me to get on track. I am on 2 insulins and metformin. It has helped to keep my a1c's at around 5.8. This is not a fun disease especially when I'm sick or emotional. I am hoping meeting others with diabetes will help me cope with having diabetes.

Hi there! I'm a newbie here. My family is diabetic and in my early age, my glucose level is above normal. I'm taking medications such as Glucophage and have a diet.

Cool Hello Everyone,

Hello Everyone, My name is Maxx, I was diagnosed as having Type 2 Diabeties in May of 2011. My doctor at that time told me I could possibly control it if I avoided Carbohydrates. Well I am addicted to Carbs & hate vegetables if I can be honest with you. I was in denial and was told I could control it by diet & eventually ween myself off of the meds. all together. Well a year later, I promised my family I would take better care of myself & be more aggresive in my diabetic care. I now have a new doctor. My A1c was 11.8 as of Aug 1st. I am currently taking Metformin. And scheduled myself to take some classes on diabeties management. I finally had to come to terms & face the facts that I am a diabetic. IT WAS EXTREMELY HARD TO DO! Please help me, My eating habits are horrible, I absolutely hate vegetables, and dont exercise. Please keep me in your prayers. I am going to do my best to take advantage of the tools provided to me from this website. I am glad something like this exist.
