Struggling to control my diabetes
I am 20 years old and have had type 1 diabetes for the past 17 years. Unfortunately for the last couple years I've gotten to a point where I do not check my blood sugar near enough and I just make a guess on how much insulin I should correct with. I haven't been to the doctor because I'm afraid of what they are going to say and every time I try to get back on the right track I end up messing up again. I hate what I am doing to myself I want a long life and a family one day but at this rate that won't happen I need some advice.

I personally think Dr Bernstein is where you should start. He is a type 1 that was an engineer turned MD to solve his Type 1. He is now like 80 something, reversed most of his complications and helped many others. He has recently come out with a 2nd version of his book and here is a link to his forum as well.
Forums like this and DrB's are invaluable! good luck with controlling your BG! Dr. Bernstein's Type 1 Solutions |
