When I got my pump my average bg was 300 now it's about 150 my doctor said if I wanted to go on the pump I could it was totally up to me

Some drs are just not pump friendly I would switch that's what I did to get on the pump

Get the pump - especially if your insurance covers it. Yes, you need to work harder in some ways. More testing/etc. but though it does deliver the same insulin, you simply cannot compare 4 (or even more) shots a day to the way you can program your basal along with bolus options like sqaure wave / etc.

Ihavecbeen a Diabetic for 28 years now, and the best decision I ever made related to my Diabetes was going on the pump about 5 years ago. I resisted it for a long time because I didn't want to feel "connected". Before the pump, my A1c was always north of 10...ever since using the pump, it has been right around 7. |

He wants to know that you can manage without it because a pump can be dangerous if not handled right
