Default Greetings

Hi, My name is Ken and was diagnosed with type 2 in 2000. I was placed on Insulin while I was in hospital but since about a month after leaving hospital I went onto tabs instead. I live in a country town some 1100 miles from the nearest capital city in Australia and in 2000 there wasnt a lot of info about diabetes and to just see an endo would mean a 14 hour drive. Things have improved a lot in the last 10 or so years and doctors have had a lot more education about diabetes. For the last 12 years I found it a bit boring checking my BG as it was constantly within the 5 to 8 mmol/ls range. This year things havent been so easy and my BG's are hovering around the 7 to 10 range and I am at the MAX dose for my tabs. I am now re-educating myself about carbs and GI and good food and trying to get back on track with my BG readings. I am hoping that being a part of this community will help. I hope my little story didnt bore you all very much

Welcome to the Forum!

Carb counting will help, take a look at the first three threads in the T2 Section. Good luck with your control and management.
