Default New to this forum and diabetes

I was just diagnosed. Doc says "Lose weight," and didn't prescribe anything. I bought a glucometer last weekend, found the GlucoseBuddy app and this forum. I'm in over my head.

I am a paediatrician,my wife is recently diagnosed as type2 diabetic with strong family history also. She is obese, living a sedentary life. I am too much worried. She is not willing for exercise even.

Hi, try consulting with someone in your area who sells Ideal Protein. Look at www.idealprotein.com
They have plans for Type 1 and Type 2 patients. We have seen success in both types in our office.

Hope you're careful with the weight. In December I weighed 395 lbs. Today, I weigh 130 lbs. I look awesome. Good luck to you.

Mary, it sounds like you need a new doctor! Your doc should be educating you and getting you on a heathy path! I don't know what kind of ins you have but an endocrinologist can be a huge help along with a nutritionist. There is a lot of information and it can be overwhelming.
