Which type?
Hi there, my first post so hello all!
I was diagnosed earlier this month on the 10th and having read a 23.4 at my gp's (and having glucose in urine) was sent to the hospital. Straight away I was given insulin and told it's going to be part of my life now. My question is this. How do they know I was type 1? They tested my blood glucose and keytones which were also up and then before I could go they tested my blood for acid to make sure I didn't need a stay in hospital on fluids. From experience do we think this was adequate to make a diagnosis between the two types? Thanks in advance. I look forward to posting more on here! Adam |

Welcome to the Forum! The keytones are the give a way, in my estimation.
